Preschool Story The Litte Red Hen

The little Red Hen was in the farmyard with her chickens, when she found a grain of wheat.

"Who will plant this wheat?" she said. "Not I," said the Goose. "Not I," said the Duck. "I will, then," said the little Red Hen, and she planted the grain of wheat.

When the wheat was ripe she said, "Who will take this wheat to the mill?" "Not I," said the Goose. "Not I," said the Duck. "I will, then," said the little Red Hen, and she took the wheat to the mill.

When she brought the flour home she said, "Who will make some bread with this flour?" "Not I," said the Goose. "Not I," said the Duck. "I will, then," said the little Red Hen.

When the bread was baked, she said, "Who will eat this bread?" "I will," said the Goose. "I will," said the Duck. "No, you won't," said the little Red Hen. "I shall eat it myself. Cluck! cluck!" And she called her chickens to help her.

Preschool Toys - Little People

blocks.jpgWhen people come over to visit us they always notice that we have a ton of toys. We always say "We buy toys we like to play with too."

The reason is, it is so much more fun to play with the kids when it is toys we all like to play with. We really like to buy them fisher price little people. There are a ton of them, but we love to play with them with the boys. They like to stand them all up and knock them over, identify the animals, name the people, etc. This teaches them colors, the animals, and other identification qualities.

We even use them to teach. By playing the who is game we can set up a ton of the little people and knock them over when they aren't it. We also set up all the vehicles and teach them the different jobs and places the little people go. This helps to teach them about others in the community. They also have special ones that they named after people in their family, their aunt, grama, grandpa, etc.

The point is try to buy toys that you will enjoy playing with too, it just makes it a more fun all around experience.

Bubble Week

Make your own bubble solution. You can use dish soap and water, and test it until you can blow bubbles easily.

It might be fun to put the solution in the sink and let kids blow bubbles into the sink with straws. They can watch them mount up and then pop them.

The bath could be another option for this. There are usually a lot of bubble toys at the department stores for kids to use outside.

Teach kids how each bubble almost always come out in a circle no matter what the wand is. You can even show them this as well, try different wands that would look like they should make different shape bubbles.

Use different ideas around the house for bubble blowing. You can use a lot of different kitchen supplies like spoons with holes and a whisk to do some different experiments.

Preschool Theme Bubbles

My kids love bubbles. We actually blow them quite often with the huge wands from the store and then this past weekend they got a bubble machine for their birthday. Of course they love. They are so mesmerized by bubbles.

With bubbles in mind, check out the bubble theme from everything preschool. They put together lots of categories to follow about fun things to do with bubbles, Im sure you will find something your kids will love.

I won't be doing the wading pool of bubbles any time soon, but the yogurt running bubbles sounds fun.
