early childhood fun

So today we are going to practice STOP, DROP, and ROLL!!!!

Using red, orange and yellow felt pieces cut them out to look like flames. Then use velcro to put them together. Explain to the children that if they ever catch on fire they should not run, that they should stop whatever they are doing, drop to the ground, and roll around. Once the children understand this, put the felt fire on one at a time and allow them to practice. This can be very fun and all of the children will enjoy it. If you are able to make more than one piece of fire then do it you will need it if your children do not share well. Once they all of this down very well you can explain to them what LOOK, LISTEN, and FEEL mean. You know look for smoke, listen for help, and feel the doors for fire.

Using paper bags allow the children to decorate as they see if for their mothers and once it is all dry place the of the weeks activities inside them for the children to give to their mothers.

Tomorrow we start community helpers and give one activity to do everyday with your toddlers and preschoolers. I hope you are ready.
