Preschool Rhythm Activities

Songs No Comments

Sometimes it can be difficult to find preschool rhythm activities. The problem is preschoolers just aren’t as focused on by music professionals as other age groups, but there is plenty you can do. First of all we have posted here about instructions to make your own preschool musical instruments. You can see the link right here:

http://earlychildhoodfun.com/blog/free-homemade-instruments-for-preschool-music/

Once you have made the instruments it’s time to play. To start with take the egg shakers and let the children dance around with them. You can play music with it at the same time and you can get a set of egg shakers too to play with. When you have your set you can shake them to the rhythm of the music. This will teach the kids to do the same.

As for the other instruments you can do the same thing. A great link to use for the music is right here: http://www.abchomepreschool.com/Music/PreschoolMusicActivities.htm

Rhythm teaches the little ones a lot about music. Many little children are very musically inclined and these activities can help them get a life long love of music, which can lead to high IQ scores and great careers in music.

I will post more preschool rhythm activities as I find them.

Preschool Songs, and Links, and Fingerplays

Hi all. I know I have missed a couple of days worth of posts and want to apologize for that. I have a lot going on with this preschooling stuff and an ebook I am working on. In case you haven’t seen the first it is on www.earlychildhoodfun.com no spam I promise. I haven’t even sent out one email to that group yet. I am too busy writing about preschooling.

The days I missed consisted of Friday and Saturday. Those are songs and links days. I do have a couple of both to share, so here goes.

5 Little Eggs added 11-9-98 Original Author Unknown
5 little Easter eggs,
Lovely colors wore;
Mother ate the blue one,
Then there were four.
4 little Easter eggs,
Two and two, you see;
Daddy ate the red one,
Then there were three.
3 little Easter eggs,
Before I knew,
Sister ate the yellow one,
Then there were two.
Two little Easter eggs,
Oh, what fun!
Brother ate the purple one,
Then there was one.
1 little Easter egg,
See me run!!!
I ate the last one,
And then there was none.

This poem, song, was taken from www.preschooleducation.com where you can find more easter songs.

Perpetual preschool also has some great songs and fingerplays to check out.
