Preschool Themes – Rainy Days

Today is rather rainy in our neck of the woods so I am going to put together a post on rainy days. Things to do with your preschoolers on a rainy day.

Activity- Puddle Splash
Throw on the golashes and the raincoats and go outside and let them splash. I know, I know they will get dirty, but they will have so much fun. Grab your camera and take pictures. Not everyone lets their children splash in the puddles, and it’s kinda sad because they love doing it. It will be a great experience for you all, just give it a shot.

Song-
Rain, Rain come and stay
We want to play some more today
Little Children want to play
In puddles splashing all day.
(my own version of rain rain go away)

Game- Bucket run.
As it is raining outside, it wouldn’t hurt to play a game where they get a little more wet. Use cereal bowls for buckets, in this game. Fill the cereal bowls with water (or let them fill with rain) and let the kids do a race to see who can get to the finish the fastest and who can keep the most in their “buckets” chances are the fastest child and the child with the most rain in their bucket will not be the same child, so everyone is a winner.

Craft- Water Paint Picture
You can give them construction paper (to soak up the water) or print something out on it with the computer. Give them the water colors to paint with and let them post them on the refrigerator to dry. Here are a couple of nice coloring pages that fit the rainy day theme.
